This Nail Care Routine Guarantees Healthy-Looking Natural Nails

Have you ever had those days when your nails look dry and even the skin around them is dry? It doesn’t look healthy at all so you’re forced to wear nail polish to hide your dry nails. Today, we have a nail care routine that will help you achieve healthy-looking nails. Check out the steps below:

Nail Care Routine for Healthy Nails

  • File your nails to even them out. Oval shape looks very natural.
  • After filing, soak the nails in warm water. This will soften the cuticles.
  • Remove your hands from the warm water, dry them, and apply cuticle remover. The cuticle will be further softened, which makes it easier to remove.
  • Using a cuticle pusher, start pushing back the cuticle in circular motion.
  • Wipe away the cuticle with a cotton pad.
  • If you have hangnails, clip them off with nippers. Please be very careful with this.
  • Apply cuticle oil on the cuticles to keep them from drying. The oil also helps them look healthy and helps the nail to grow faster.
  • Lather hand cream on your hands. This makes the hands look healthier, too.

Nail Care Tips:

  • Exfoliate your hands once a week to remove dead skin cells and bring out the radiant skin underneath.
  • Use soy polish remover instead because this is more moisturizing than chemical-based nail polish removers. While it does take a little longer to remove the polish, it gets the job done, leaving your nails looking healthy (as if you just applied cuticle oil, too!)
  • Speaking of oil, apply it by massaging it into the nails. The light pressure helps get the blood flowing into the nails and promote nail growth.
  • If you can’t get your hands on nail cuticle oil, try olive, coconut, or grapeseed oil.
  • Keratin treatment is also good for the nails. It can remove white spots, peeling, and splitting of nails. It helps make the skin stronger. Apply it once a day over nail polish.
  • If you feel like your nails are always dry, maybe the problem is inside the body. You can try taking supplements like biotin, B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, to name a few.
  • Never forget to use sterilized nail care tools. And if possible, don’t share them with others.
  • Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate. Water combats dehydration from within.

This nail care routine can’t get simpler, but it’s very effective in achieving healthy-looking nails without the help of clear nail polish. But of course, you also have to put in the work inside your body to make sure your nails grow healthy.
