How To Contour Your Nose The Easy Way

If you have a bit of a flat nose and want to create a pointy-looking nose, know that you can rely on the right makeup tricks for that! You just have to know the right technique to contour your nose. You’ll actually be surprised at how easy it is! Just follow the steps below:

Step 1: Prep the Canvas

Your nose is the canvas so before you start putting in the details, prep what you’re going to paint on first. Apply foundation on the face already and then apply concealer down the sides of the nose and down the middle. Using a liquid concealer is recommended because it is easier to blend. Grab a sponge and blend the concealer thoroughly. Now apply a highlight powder on top of the concealer to set it.

Step 2: Start Contouring

The thing with having a flat nose is that it appears flatter or emphasized because there are no shadows. Contouring adds shadows and therefore, gives the nose more dimension.

For the contour, use your go-to bronzer. However, go for one that has a matte finish and a cool tone; anything else will make the contour look very artificial.

Before contouring, determine how thin you want the nose to be. Once you’ve decided, take a wedge sponge, dip it into your bronzer, dab off the excess, and start creating that line using the flat and short side of the wedge sponge. If you have a long nose, shade the bottom of the nose as well and then create a triangle on the tip of the nose for a pointy effect.

Now take your blending brush, dip it into the bronzer, and start applying from underneath where the eyebrows start going into the nose. The added shadow will help you achieve that sharper nose. Using the same blending brush, start blending on top of the lines you created. Don’t blend down. You can also use tiny circular motions for blending.

Step 3: Polishing the Look

By now, you can see what difference the contouring has made already, but you’re not yet done (almost!). The next step is to apply your highlighter powder on the sides of the nose to refine the look more. About an inch above of the nose tip, add some highlighter as well. Make sure to blend everything properly. Follow it up with powder foundation; tap the powder on top of the contour and blend again.

Just to make sure your contour looks flawless, get a fan brush, dab some highlighter on it and apply on the tip of the nose and down the nose bridge as well. And you’re done!

Contouring your nose is like having a nose job but using makeup instead. There’s no need to go under the knife or get fillers to make your nose look sharper or pointier. This makeup trick will really make a huge difference. Try the steps now and see the results for yourself!
