Banish Dark Eye Circles Instantly with These Natural DIY Treatments

Those dark circles are not an unsolvable problem! Here are several all-natural techniques you can use at home to quickly remove pigmentation and reduce puffiness around your eyes:

DIY Treatment 1: Sweet Almond Oil

In the video, Huda swears by sweet almond oil as a solution to dark circles. It contains anti-inflammatory properties which help reduce swelling around your eyes. To use:

  • Pour a small amount of sweet almond oil in a bowl.
  • Dip two cotton balls in the bowl, allowing them to soak up the oil.
  • With a little pressure, swipe the soaked cotton balls from the inner corners below your eyes all the way to your temples. Do the same above your eyes. Repeat.

If doing this at night, clean the area so that the oil is only left around your eyes. If doing this in the morning, clean the area and use a cold compress to relieve puffiness.

DIY Treatment 2: Tomatoes

Tomatoes are packed with antioxidants and lycopene, as well as vitamins A and C, which makes them very good for your skin. To use:

  • Refrigerate your tomatoes beforehand to cool and help reduce puffiness around your eyes.
  • Chop and crush the chilled tomatoes. Drain until not much liquid is left.
  • Lie down to prevent any mess.
  • Take a small handful of crushed tomatoes and apply it to your lids, making sure the area around your eyes are also covered.
DIY Treatment 3: Potatoes and Honey

Potatoes are good for hydrating your skin. They also help reduce pigmentation. You can use chilled potatoes on their own by cutting them into thin slices that fit well around your eyes. However, combining them with honey, which has anti-inflammatory and healing properties, makes for a powerful remedy. To use:

  • Refrigerate your potatoes before use.
  • Shred the chilled potatoes.
  • Add a little honey, only enough to make it sticky and pasty.
  • Lie down to prevent any mess.
  • Like with the tomatoes, take a small handful of the mixture and apply it to your lids.
DIY Treatment 4: Turmeric, Avocado, and Lactic Acid

Lactic acid, found in milk, is great for your skin. Avocados, filled with vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, will help alleviate hyperpigmentation. Turmeric, on the other hand, has anti-inflammatory properties. To use:

  • Refrigerate your avocados before using.
  • Mash the chilled avocados and put them in a bowl.
  • Add a tiny amount of turmeric, as too much will stain your skin.
  • Mix in a couple teaspoons of milk.
  • Add a little baking soda to pull the paste-like mixture together.
  • Thinly smear the concoction onto two cotton pads.
  • Press the cotton pad on your eye, doing the same with the other one.

You, too, can achieve a refreshed look with these at-home DIY treatments that won’t break the bank. Some of the ingredients can even be found in your kitchen. Say goodbye to those dark circles and hello to brighter skin!
